Purpose of the position
We are seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer responsible for maintaining, servicing, and repairing Hiab and third-party equipment.
In this role, you will provide good customer service through product knowledge and customer interaction.
The Field Service Engineer position is commutable from Durham, Darlington, Northallerton and Middlesbrough or anywhere in between, consideration will still be given to any candidates outside of this area.
Main tasks and responsibilities
- Complete all service, repair, warranty, and inspection jobs allocated daily, to a high-quality standard;
- Build strong rapport and relationships with customers, through professional behaviour and customer-focused mindset;
- Respond to routine inquiries from customers about the technical aspects of the organisation’s products and services;
- Complete all job-related paperwork in an accurate and timely manner to ensure correct invoicing to the customer;
- Troubleshoot, investigate, and resolve standard technical problems that arise, ensure ongoing customer satisfaction;
- Develop skills and knowledge of the organisation’s products and services;
- Carry out assigned tasks and duties in a safe manner, in accordance with instructions and in compliance with the company's safety rules/procedures and with regulations and codes of practice;
- Support the company’s efforts to reduce accidents/incidents by reporting unsafe actions or conditions and participating in Safety Walks, Safety Audits and 5S events etc. as required.
What you’ll need to succeed
- Will have demonstrable technical experience with a similar, mobile service role;
- Possess the necessary experience of working with relevant mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems;
- Will have existing knowledge of some of the following plants would be beneficial: i.e loader cranes, truck-mounted forklifts, forestry cranes, demountable and skip loaders;
- Will need to be flexible with regards to travel, tasks performed, and working hours;
- Should be comfortable working independently and be an effective problem solver;
- Will possess excellent planning, organisation, and time management skills;
- Self-starter, who is enthusiastic and driven;
- English language skills;
- Full Driving license.
