This position will be based Predominately located in the South of England and will be responsible for project delivery as well as Field Service activities. A support Engineer responds to service requests, scheduled maintenance, diagnoses system malfunctions, repairs or replaces equipment to return the systems to fully operating requirements as specified by the customer or contract. The Position requires the Successful applicants to live close to the M4 and be able to respond to new key accounts.
Key responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and the repair of customer’s Scada / PLC/ PME systems – training will be provided.
- Perform scheduled maintenance tasks on installed Scada / PLC/ PME systems.
- Be part of an on-call support rota;
- Diagnose problems and provide technical solutions to ensure customers have minimal disruption to their operations. This support maybe via telephone, VPN or on-site visit and whilst “on-call” you be available 24 hours per day.
- Become fluent in interrogating Schneider SCADA systems (Citect, PSE, PSO, IONe & PME, EPAS)
Qualifications:
- You should have served an Electrical apprenticeship in a related subject and within the electrical engineering industry.
- You will demonstrate excellent communications skills and have experience of working in a customer-focused environment.
- Ability to act independently and to co-ordinate others if required. Effective interpersonal skills to represent the company to customers.
- Ability to explain technical information to non-technical people.
- Excellent understanding of PME, SCADA, HV distribution, PLC programming and industrial process control software would be beneficial. (Schneider Electric - advantageous)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including but not limited to Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Visio and Autocad .
