Overview of role:
Installation, repair and maintenance support of the full range of Rapiscan’s RTT, CT, Checkpoint & Trace products in the UK/Ireland & EMEA.
Responsibilities
- Installation and service support of Rapiscan’s Checkpoint, RTT, CT and Trace systems at customer’s premises, primarily in Northern Ireland and Ireland, but may include other locations throughout the UK and overseas.
- Routine preventative and breakdown maintenance of the Company’s equipment at customer premises in the UK/Ireland and EMEA.
- Provide out of hours standby cover as part of established teams.
- Carry out basic Operator and Technical training when required at customer premises.
- Carry out site surveys and advise customer on technical matters prior to installations.
- Learn the basics of ADS products so assistance can be given to other teams.
- Provide feedback to Engineering, Product Line Management and QA as part of our continuous improvement programme.
- Any other departmental ad-hoc duties when required.

Qualifications
- A strong communication skill with excellent written and oral ability. Able to clearly articulate both the Product and Process to any Customer or Programme Stakeholder.
- Experience with installing, configuring and troubleshooting MS Windows based servers and workstations highly desirable.
- Knowledge of X-ray systems or computed tomography a major advantage.
- Experience programming PLC’s an advantage.
- Have excellent ability to trouble-shoot complex systems and logically work through problems.
- Must have experience in a field service engineer role.
- Flexible during times of change and reacts to project adjustments promptly and efficiently.
- Willingness to travel within Northern Ireland and surrounding areas.
- Must be self-motivated and work well under pressure.
- Strong aptitude to learn.
- Ability to obtain airport security passes essential (some require a Criminal Record check).
- Must have electronic/engineering qualifications in subjects relevant to the role.
- Post graduate qualification in Electrical engineering desirable.
- A recognised qualification in an IT (Microsoft, cisco etc.) a plus
- A good general knowledge of mechanical, electrical, civil, hydraulic, electronics or complex electro-mechanical equipment or systems. Or knowledge of HV Systems i.e. Medical or Industrial engineering discipline.
