Trainee VAT Room Operator
This is a fantastic opportunity offering a competitive salary, starting at £13.80 during your training period and increasing to £16.35 per hour once training has been successfully passed.
Angus Dundee Distillers PLC is currently recruiting for VAT Room (filtration) Operators to join our Coatbridge facility on a permanent basis.
You will be joining a busy, friendly team. Working within a fast paced team, the successful candidate will work on numerous key tasks to support the Company’s mission to supply high quality, bottled products worldwide.
The main duties and training elements of the position are as follows:
- Dealing with the receipt and dispatch of bulk spirit tankers.
- Carrying out blending, reduction and colouring.
- Dealing with Spirit Transfers.
- Processing small batch and single cask requirements.
- Cask and drum filling, cask toughing.
- Operating and competent use of SCADA and flow-log systems
- Chill Filtration.
- Maintaining accurate VAT Accounts and VAT Room Records
- Following SOPs and VAT instructions

- Competitive salary, starting at £13.80 during your training period and increasing to £16.35 per hour once training has been successfully passed.
- 31 days holiday per year, 23 days plus 8 public holidays.
- Company pension scheme which for the first year of employment consists of 5% Employee Contributions and 3% Employer Contributions. Upon completion of 1 year of employment, you will be eligible for enrolment into an enhanced Company Pension Scheme, with the employer contributions increasing to 7% contributions.
- Excellent hours of work: between 7.45am and 4.45pm, Monday to Thursday with an early finish of 2pm on a Friday (working out-with these hours may be needed where required by the business). You will also be required to work a back-shift once every four weeks.
