Role: Finance administrator
Location: Dundee but hybrid (2-3 days in the office ideally).
Salary: £27,000 - £32,000
Hours: 37.5hrs per week, Monday - Friday
Interview process: 2x interviews and the final will involve testing data
You will be working in the finance and accounts team, this role involves more administrative tasks such as gathering information in its day to day.
The grant work which this person will be heavily involved in, is to run reports and consolidation information and you will have the option of helping at budget/forecasting time depending on experience but the real focus is on the reporting out the way and more in line with an administrative assistant or finance assistant at best.

My client are looking for someone who can start as a assistant but move into a financial business partner position in the future.
This is a commercial based role not a tradition financial company and you MUST has a analytical mind to look at the financial data to ask questions and manage clients expectations.
You will work in a small team of 3 people and mainly help with grant administration as this company are a research and development business that receives a lot of grants and therefore need to follow regulation and compliance and comply to R+D tax credit legislation.
You will also need to analyse financial transactions and ensured they are tagged to a project and understand the spend to match the grant.
Other tasks will include months end such as pre-payments, preparing board reports and the companies budget which starts in august and September. You will also be involved with cost centre reporting as the client currently has 3 major departments they want to break down to sub centres.
About the role:
As a Financial Reporting Assistant, you will work proactively and collaboratively with stakeholders to provide high quality and accurate financial documentation, primarily around the preparation and reviewing of both monthly reporting packs for departmental cost centres aswell as consolidating and evaluating R&D Grant Project expenditure. Your position as an assistant will provide you with a unique opportunity to gain exposure to both commercial and operational aspects of the business.
Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will support the preparation and analysis of various financial reports, statements and forecasts. Additionally, as a valued member of the wider finance team, you will actively contribute to ongoing continuous process improvements. Your ability to efficiently assist and support the financial reporting team in their daily tasks will be a crucial component of your success within the team
Role description and responsibilities:
To prepare and review monthly reporting packs for departmental cost centres including forecast detail, variance analysis and forecast look ahead, prioritising accuracy and reliable reporting.
To gather, consolidate, monitor and evaluate expenditure of R&D Grant projects including reclaims from awarding body in conjunction with FP&A Manager and R&D Team.To be familiar with, and understand, commercial and operational issues to allow comprehensive report preparation.Interrogation of financial data in order to ensure that underlying trends and issues are highlighted.To assist in forecasting using generally accepted accounting principles based on actual recorded results.To assist in developing the annual financial budget and Board Presentations.To assist FP&A Manager in company's statutory audit process.To prepare ad-hoc internal reports, business analysis and other duties as required.Input into process development and policy development initiatives that impact Corporate Services function as well as wider organisation.Experience & Skills:
Ideally dealt with multiple ERP systemsMust have great communication and be a team player as working in a team of 3Not afraid to ask questions and challenge ideasExperience of working with Microsoft packages in particular Excel essential.Microsoft Business Central (Formerly NAV) knowledge desirable but not essential.Good communication skills are essential with ability to articulate views in comprehensive manner, and able to tailor communications at different levels along with a strong attention to detail.Accounting experience desirable.Good organisational skills and must be able to work to deadlines, as well as self-checking approach to work output.Experience in a similar finance position, ideally in the manufacturing and/or R&D sectors.
Able to meet tight deadlines and respond quickly to requests from the senior management team.
