Investec are looking for a seasoned Hyperion Developer (Essbase, Planning) with a passion for Technology and Finance to join our dynamic Finance Technology Team, working for an innovative organisation.
As part of the Finance Technology team, you will be collaborating closely with all team members, working with UK, Offshore, and SA Finance teams,  the Finance Technology Platform Owner as well as key business stakeholders. You'll have the opportunity to build relationships across the Digital and Technology community and leverage knowledge and capabilities to drive effective outcomes. The team is responsible for the full end to end management of Finance and Tax systems and related Business intelligence and Data applications, along with the delivery of high-quality, innovative solutions for Finance teams.

The ideal candidate will have strong data and technical skills and previous experience with Oracle Hyperion Planning, Essbase and/or similar EPM systems and associated technologies, and help us to deliver high-quality, innovative solutions for Finance. The role provides exposure to a wide range of Finance, Business intelligence and data applications and processes, and emerging AI technologies such as the Investec's ZebraGPT and the full Microsoft suite including Copilot.

What you will be doing 

Working with applications such as Hyperion, Microsoft Azure, Power BI, MS SQL, SSIS, Oracle Cloud, full Microsoft stack including Copilot, you will be:

•    Collaborating with finance and tax teams to understand their needs and requirements for technology solutions.
•    Identifying opportunities for process improvement, automation and the application of best practice.
•    Maintaining, developing, and enhancing complex Hyperion Planning and Essbase applications and associated processes to support financial planning and reporting and ensure they meet changing needs.
•    Staying up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in finance technology to ensure that the organization is using the most effective and efficient solutions.
•    Ensure data and metadata accuracy and completeness across all associated Finance Applications.
•    Troubleshoot complex issues with applications and work with end users and team members to resolve issues, providing guidance and end user support 
•    Integrating technology solutions with other systems and applications used by the organization.
•    Performing and monitoring the interfacing of data with other internal systems (including actual, budget and forecast roll forward processes).

What we are looking for

• Strong technical skills with previous experience with Oracle Hyperion Planning and Essbase, and other financial systems software
• Knowledge of MS SQL and Power BI
•    Experienced with the support and enhancement of processes involved in the Finance function.  
•    Fundamental understanding of Financial Reporting, Planning, Budgeting and Forecasting processes and functions,  along with Financial Consolidation and the month end close processes.
  •    Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with great attention to detail and accuracy.
  •    Strong communication and interpersonal skills, highly collaborative nature
  •    Flexible and able to adjust to change in priorities in a highly dynamic environment.

Desirable attributes, but not essential to the role

• Azure highly desirable
• Knowledge of a range of different vendor offerings in the EPM/ERP space.
• Knowledge of the UK Finance, Tax & Regulatory reporting environment
