SalaryPaying up to £30k + benefits - Based in Oldham, North Manchester our client is a successful engineering business that are looking for an experienced Finance Assistant to join their expanding finance team. This is an office-based role working from 8.30am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday.
THE JOB
Reporting to the Financial Controller, as Finance Assistant you will be supporting the Financial Controller and the wider finance team in all areas of the company accounts and financial systems.
As Finance Assistant your responsibilities will include:
- Providing support to the accounts processes for purchase, sales, and the nominal ledgers.
- Dealing with general accounts queries (including debt recovery).
- Database monitoring and system development.
- Ensuring all processes are completed accurately and efficiently.
- Assisting with the preparation of the both the financial and management accounts.
- Assisting with financial and management reporting.
- Assisting the Financial Controller and Finance Director with any ad hoc accounting duties as required.
THE PERSON
- Qualified AAT Level 3 or above (preferred).
- A solid understanding of accountancy principles.
- Strong communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills with a high level of accuracy.
- A professional individual, able to interact effectively with a wide variety of people at all levels.
- Able to use sound judgment, employing discretion as appropriate.
- Level-headed and capable of keeping order in a high-pressure target driven working environment.
- Self-motivated, able to independently prioritise.
- Eager and capable of learning.
- Able to motivate/train and cultivate a positive culture within the team.
- Able to lead by example.
