Job description

Myton Hospice has an exciting opportunity available for a Finance & Facilities Director, Company Secretary to join our team based across Coventry and Warwick with possible travel to other sites across the region.You will join us on a full-time, permanent basis working 40 hours per week. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £80,000 per annum.

The Myton Hospices is an organisation at the forefront of palliative and end of life care across Coventry and Warwickshire and with a national profile. We have 3 hospices, 2 inpatient units and an ever-developing range of outpatient and community based services.

We have over 300 staff and almost 1,000 volunteers who are committed to improving the quality of life for patients and their families. Our people are central to the success of our palliative care services, fundraising, support teams and extensive retail footprint. As our Finance & Facilities Director, Company Secretary, you will develop sustainable budgets in collaboration with the wider SLT and lead on the strategy to increase return on investment, profitability and ultimately the number and breadth of services the organisation provides for patients and families. To oversee the management of Myton’s buildings including shops ensuring excellent asset management and sustainability for the future.

What you will be doing as our Finance & Facilities Director Company Secretary:

  • To influence the future direction of Myton by working with the CEO and Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to provide strategic leadership and to ensure that our vision to reach more people across Coventry and Warwickshire with a life limiting illness as early as possible is achieved  
  • To deliver all strategies relating to Myton’s finances and Estate and direct any projects within agreed timescales and to a successful outcome
  • To effectively manage and control all capital and revenue budgets to ensure excellent return on investment, profitability and financial resilience
  • To advise the CEO, SLT, People and Resources governance committee and Board of Trustees on all matters relating to the safety, security and maintenance of all Myton sites and property     
  • Oversee the effective operation and development for all accounting functions, particularly those relating to purchase ledger, sales ledger, payroll, cash and banking, nominal ledger, credit and stock control for both the Myton Trust and the Promotion Company
  • Manage all of Myton’s financial assets and working with our Investment Brokers manage the Myton investment portfolio
  • Monitor the activities and budgets for all departments, ensuring controls are in place to support effective cost and income management, reporting and taking action where required 
  • Produce monthly management accounts and finance reports
  • Oversee the management, safety and security of the Myton Estate including the three hospice sites and chain of 24 retail outlets (expanding to 27 in 24/25)
  • Oversee the facilities operation (Estates, Catering, Housekeeping, reception and transport)
