Job description

VWS Limited is a company that provides bespoke security and intelligent building systems to clients across Scotland and the UK. VWS are currently looking to expand the team with an experienced Finance Manager.

As a Finance Manager, you will be based full time in our Cumbernauld office in Westfield Industrial estate working a shift pattern of Monday to Friday, 9.00am until 5.00pm.

Main responsibilities:

· Manage finance team.

· Lead the team responsible for payroll, VAT and HMRC processes.

· Proficient user of finance software Sage / Xero, and assist with the associated credit control processes.

· Manage purchasing process.

· Attend meetings with managers, Directors, and Shareholders to discuss current financial situation and present forecast projections.

· Generate monthly management accounts and review with Directors.

· Generate specific management reports and review with Directors.

· Inform manager of problematic cashflow situations in good time enabling key decisions to be made to avert issues.

· Work closely with incumbent accountant to ensure that books are balanced, and tax affairs are up to date.

· Communicate with production team to obtain up to date WIP value, order book value and update ledger accordingly.

· Gain stock balance from stock controller, register in accounting software and adjust balance sheet.

· Ensure all financial documentation (and other relevant documentation) is scanned and filed in the appropriate electronic cabinet.

· Carry out relevant training when required to finance team.

· Department integration. Communicate with the team whilst withholding sensitive information that could cause concern or friction.

· Monitor nominal codes within management accounts for correct coding.

Credit control responsibilities:

· Invoicing

· Credit Control.

· Post Payments Received / reconcile cashflow and bank inflows.

· Batch update all transactions (currently in cash)

· Verify and maintain PPM schedule payments.

· Verify and maintain monitoring schedule payments.

· Send Statements to customers and follow up call on a monthly basis.

· Meet with relevant departments to discuss any issues relating to invoice rejections, billing scheduling, monitoring billing and any other relevant matters.

· Create and verify applications / claims for customers.

· Track and report aged debt in company KPI sheet.

· Communicate the urgency of addressing overdue payments to management once all available resources have been exhausted.

Essential:

- Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles and practices

- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)

- Minimum of 5 years' experience in financial management or a similar role

- Right to work in the UK

- Excellent IT skills with proficiency in financial management software and MS office packages

- Proficiency in financial planning and analysis

- Excellent leadership and management skills

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

- Ability to effectively communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders

- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in work

- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines

- A high level of professionalism, enthusiasm, and reliability, and be a team-player
