Burman Recruitment are currently working with a higher education client based in London on the search for a Business Support Manager for Finance on an 12 Month FTC basis (high potential to turn permanent).
Responsibilities
- Establish, execute, oversee, and regularly assess robust procedures to ensure financial integrity and control in alignment with university Finance policies. Ensure accuracy and consistency with central policies, and provide briefings to the Operations Manager/Dean of School on budgetary targets and consumables budget allocation.
- Examine, oversee, assess, and control all locally managed expenses to optimise the School's annual income allocation. Collaborate with the central Finance team to review and adjust budgets and forecasts, determining feasibility and potential for local teaching and research initiatives.
- Supervise the business support team, handling recruitment, induction, and personal development. Ensure high service levels against KPIs through 1-2-1s, appraisals, and performance management. Organise the team flexibly with sufficient skills/knowledge for cross-cover during peak times and planned absences.
- Act as the deputy for the Operations Manager in the School, showcasing proficiency in Finance, HR, and overall administration and planning.
