Finance Manager

Are you an experienced Bookkeeper or SME Finance Manager looking for a part time role in a growing start-up?

Reed Accountancy in Oxford are pleased to be partnering with a small but growing organisation based in South Oxfordshire who are recruiting a Finance Manager to join the team on a part time basis due to an impending retirement. This role offers a competitive salary, 25 days annual leave (pro rata), company performance bonus schemes, flexible/hybrid working, private medical insurance and share schemes as well as onsite parking and the chance to join a growing yet close-knit organisation.

This role will ideally be done over 2/3 days and you will be required to be working Monday & Tuesday during the handover with the current individual doing the role, but hours and working patterns are flexible. 

The responsibilities of the role include:

• Prepare forward budgets
• Financial cost, and cash flow projections
• Produce P & L for the financial costings of projects
• Managing cashflow
• Bank reconciliation
• Complete and submit VAT returns.
• Responsible for audit closure on all entities.
• Payroll
• Day to day bookkeeping; i.e. processing sales/purchase invoices, reconciling cashbooks, VAT returns, corporation tax returns and credit control.
• Monthly management accounts, required within tight deadlines after month end and ensuring all information is available in a timely basis
• Monthly reporting to company Directors on financial performance
• Preparation of annual accounts
• Managing company benefits and company insurances etc.

The perfect individual for this role will have wide ranging experience in a similar finance role and will be accustomed to working within a small function. You will be driven and keen to take ownership and full responsibility, working to strict deadlines and be able to effectively communicate and consult non-finance individuals within the business. Strong communication skills for reporting and good analytical skills are key. Ideally you will have studied AAT or be QBE, but experience is the most valued aspect. There may be future scope for the role to grow.
