Historic England have a fantastic opportunity for you to join us as our Finance & Procurement Director.
What you will be doing
The Finance & Procurement Director is a key member of the Corporate Leadership Team. In this role you will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations and strategies of Historic England. You will play a critical role in ensuring financial stability, transparency, and compliance with regulatory requirements as well as delivering excellent shared services to our customers.
As our Finance & Procurement Director, you will develop and implement Historic England’s financial strategy (including long-term financial plans and recommendations), aligned with its strategic objectives.
You will oversee ongoing development of finance systems and process improvement projects, whilst also identifying and mitigating financial risks, informing Historic England’s risk management policies and procedures.
Who we are looking for
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g. ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA)
- Proven experience in a senior finance role within the public sector, including experience with government financial regulations and reporting
- Experience of working in complex, multi-site and multi-functional organisations
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to lead, inspire and develop a finance team
- Ability to build trust, engage, influence, negotiate and effectively challenge successfully at all levels of the organisation
