Job description

Our client has an urgent need for a Finance Transformation Lead to support on a Finance Transformation project they are currently undertaking to drive significant improvements across our financial processes and systems. This role is ideal for a qualified accountant who thrives in a project-driven environment and has a proven track record of delivering financial change
This will be an initial 3-4 month contract with the potential for extension, and will pay £300 - £350 per day (potentially room for negotiation depending on experience and skill set).
Whilst not fully remote, our client is offering a high level of flexibility. Ideally, they would like the successful candidate to attend either the Manchester or London one day per week/fortnight.
Key Responsibilities
* Finance Reporting Automation Project: Play a pivotal role in supporting the delivery of a business-wide project focused on the automation of finance planning and reporting processes. We will transition towards automated, in month reporting of actual performance and facilitate a quicker month-end close process. Through this project we will also provide a new level of insight and context to enhance operational and strategic planning and decision making within the organisation.
* Purchase to Pay Project: Lead a critical project aimed at improving our existing purchase controls and visibility of spend. This will involve a comprehensive evaluation and enhancement of our current systems, or the identification and recommendation of a new system, if deemed more effective. Additionally, you will conduct a thorough review of all purchase-to-pay processes and workflows, identifying areas for optimisation to ensure efficiency and compliance.
* Financial Planning Tool Development: Collaborate in building a new financial planning tool and framework, laying the foundation for more efficient budgeting and forecasting processes.
* Commercial Bid Costing Tool: Assist in the development of a new tool for commercial bid costing, enhancing the timeliness, accuracy and efficiency of our bidding process.
* Documentation and Process Management: Support in creating and maintaining comprehensive procedure manuals and process notes, ensuring clarity and consistency across all financial operations.
* Other Ad-Hoc support as required by the business. This could include analysing and providing insight through existing business planning and reporting cycles.
Key Requirements
* Qualification: Ideally you will be a fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
* Experience Extensive experience in finance roles, with a focus on financial transformation and project management and demonstrated experience in each of the key workstreams highlighted.
* Project Management Skills with the ability to lead and support multiple projects simultaneously.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively with cross-functional teams whilst navigating and addressing potential resistance to change.
