Financial Accountant

Hays Senior Finance are working exclusively with a large business in the Construction and Maintenance sector. The UK is c£100m t/o across a range of high profile projects and forms part of a much larger global business. Due to significant contract wins and internal promotions the business is looking to appoint a qualified Financial Accountant to report into the Financial Controller.
The Financial Accountant role will be broad and cover the following areas -
Month End
· Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations as part of month end process
· Post month end journals
· Pension spreadsheet reports & updates
· Bank reconciliation
· PAYE/NI/VAT payment files
· Month end routine/close and reports
Compliance:
· Support in the production of draft statutory accounts
· Preparation and submission of quarterly VAT & ONS returns.
Treasury:
· Supporting generation of weekly cash flow forecasts
· Credit Control support.
Taxation:
· Supporting Corporation Tax computations and analysis.
· Research and development tax compliance.
· Re-forecast tax calculations
Controls
· Balance sheet forecasting and group reporting.
· CAPEX and Fixed Assets monthly maintenance ensuring additions and disposals are kept up to date.
This broad and rounded role is ideal for both Practice and Industry trained accountants. We are open to both career motivated applicants who want to progress to FC roles in the next two years and those who are happy succeeding at this level. The company prides itself on being a flexible employer and can offer two days a week working from home as well as flexibility on start and end times. Salary will be dependent on experience and qualifications but £45,000 - £55,000 is the guide at this stage.
