Financial Controller
Based: Southport Area
Salary: up to £55k dependent on experience + bonus + benefits + progression to FD
My client is a rapidly expanding, innovative and forward-thinking business who are forecasting triple growth in revenue for 2024. The business are extremely well-known at being at the forefront of their industry, involved in projects around the UK and globally and continue to grow dramatically over the coming years. This is a brand new role to support their growth, reporting into the Finance Director with the wider support of an ACA qualified non-exec, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a young, vibrant business in a role that will hold lots of responsibility but have a fantastic mentor to take you to Finance Director in the next few years
Role:
- Undertaking all aspects of financial management for the business
- Producing management accounts, budgets and forecasts
- Developing internal control policies and procedures, implementing new processes
- Business partnering with Directors/Stakeholders/MD/Non-Exec across the business
- Developing capabilities to review and report on profitability by customer, projects, product and services delivered
- Responsible for all journals and final ledger balances, month end balance sheet reconciliations
- Reviewing quarterly VAT returns, developing accurate monthly cashflow statements
- Implement a change management culture by challenging existing processes/ideas where required
- Assisting executive team in delivering on financial strategy, growth and annual budget – providing financial recommendations to support
- Liaising with all business departments to ensure properly supporting needs of the business from a finance perspective
- Liaising with external accountants to ensure statutory accounts are prepared and tax reporting completed accurately/timely
Experiene:
- Qualified OR Part-Qualified OR QBE with strong finance experience
- Experience within an SME absolutely essential
- XERO experience desirable but not essential
- Strong Excel & modelling experience and desire for continuous improvements
- Strong communication skills and happy to get stuck in!
