The Role:
Reporting to the Head of Transformation, Data and Controls this is a key leadership role
in terms of delivery of the Finance Transformation plan. This role will define, drive and oversee a large-scale business critical programme of change with complex outcomes that can cover the entire M&G organisation and relevant third parties. The colleague will be required to plan the full life cycle of the programme and engage with change delivery and business SME teams, together with third parties and regulators as required.
Key responsibilities for this role:
  • Within the organisation, be the visible Change owner of the initiation to support delivery for complex outcomes which impact wider than the Finance function.
  • Own the end to end delivery of medium to highly complex Finance projects, identifying key business stakeholders; leading on defining business case, project objectives, scope, resources and agreed set of expected benefits and outcomes.
  • Providing a portfolio view of all programmes/projects, to understand do ability but also correct sequencing of change initiatives, balanced against BAU activities.
  • Lead from the front to partner with the business to plan and design programmes that are aligned to the organisational strategy and deliver strategic outcomes with a focus on realising the benefits.
  • Retain ownership of the programme brief and business case ensuring the aims of the planned change continue to be aligned with the M&G strategy to ensure programme benefits can be delivered.
  • Identify and manage portfolio and programme risks and implement responses to them, managing delivery constraints and optimising the plans to maximise benefits and minimise risk.
  • Be accountable for managing the relevant processes and approvals to secure funding and resources to deliver the programme.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, challenging decisions where appropriate to ensure a successful programme outcome.
  • Ensure the integration of programme outcomes into business-as-usual addresses the operational readiness of users, compatibility of work systems and the realisation of benefits.
  • Mentor and coach members of the programme and wider Change COE in project methodology to support their personal development.

Key Skills, Competencies & Experience:
  • Confident and effective communicator (both written and verbal) across all levels of the organisation, including executive and C-suite levels.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with all levels of stakeholder to build consensus and overcome challenges.
  • Confident in leading and facilitating complex and large-scale workshops with senior stakeholders, with extensive programme management experience.
  • Strong leadership skills with an ability to motivate, influence and constructively challenge where appropriate.
  • Able to drive change to business practices by working effectively across a global organization and understanding different perspectives.
  • Exceptional organisational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple resources, priorities, and deliverables to tight deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail with an ability to anticipate, prioritise and resolve complex issues using a variety of problem solving and analytical skills to ensure the business outcome and benefits are realised.
  • Advanced programme budgetary control and financial management.
  • Ability to articulate complex issues and offer solutions to ensure the business outcome and benefits are realised.
  • Excellent judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrable track record of supporting the delivering of change.
  • Experience of developing proposals into business cases and mobilising end to end delivery of complex transformation programmes.
  • Experience of managing multi-disciplinary teams across geographic locations.
  • Experience of working in a highly controlled and regulated environment.
  • Experience of collaborating effectively with stakeholders across all levels of the business, including Executive and Non-Executive Directors and external stakeholders.
  • Leadership and management experience of Senior Project and Functional Managers (line and matrix).
