We have an exciting opportunity in our Risk & Compliance department for a full-time, Financial Crime Officer. This is an excellent opportunity for a Financial Crime specialist looking to support the Society on a wide range of Financial Crime duties and help shape our future controls.

This role is based in Melton Mowbray on a hybrid basis.

About the position

As a Financial Crime Officer, you will:

  • Identify and the develop changes to the Financial Crime Policy, guidance and controls.
  • Own and develop Financial Crime procedures.
  • Act as a subject matter expert and provide technical advice, guidance and support to the wider Society on the Society’s Financial Crime controls and procedures.
  • Produce Financial Crime Management Information.
  • Support the development and maintenance of Financial Crime risk assessments.
  • Identify and manage Financial Crime related risks.
  • Design and deliver Financial Crime role-specific training.
  • Identify and support the implementation of new or revised regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct Due Diligence and other checks on customer accounts.
  • Conduct in depth Enhanced Due Diligence assessments for high-risk customers.
  • Review, investigate and escalate Transaction Monitoring alerts and Suspicious Activity Reports.
  • Review, investigate and escalate PEP, Sanction, Adverse media, eID&V and manual ID referrals.
  • Conduct reviews, gap analyses, control testing and assurance in relation to Financial Crime controls and compliance.
  • Maintain relationships with key stakeholders.

Experience

· Knowledge and understanding of relevant UK Financial Crime laws and regulations.

· Experience of working in a Financial Crime role, preferably within Retail Banking.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

· Experience of dealing with Financial Crime technologies would be desirable.

· A Financial Crime Qualification e.g. ICA Certificate is advantageous.
