Job description

What the Hiring Manager Says
Due to expansion, Quilter Cheviot Financial Planning is currently looking for employed Financial Planners to join our dynamic and forward-thinking team in Birmingham.
We have built a highly regarded brand and marketing capability together with an advice process that our clients trust. Our impressive capabilities set us apart, and our unwavering commitment to our clients is what defines us. We have all the ingredients to be the very best in financial planning, and we're now looking for a successful Financial Planner to join us.
Our Financial Planners are part of our regional teams, providing financial planning advice to private clients with complex needs. Working collaboratively across Quilter's Wealth Management Division, often in partnership with our Investment Managers, you will offer clients a bespoke financial plan and ongoing service.
Our Financial Planners are capable of growing our number of clients, both from referrals and new relationships. We welcome ideas from our Financial Planners, offering support to drive growth through your own innovation.
About the Role
Level : 4
Location : Birmingham
Contract type : Permanent
You will become a key part of our regional teams, providing financial planning advice to private clients with complex needs. This is likely to include areas such as protection needs, savings and investments, retirement and pensions and estate management including trusts and inheritance tax planning. You'll manage a portfolio of high-net-worth clients, delivering the required elements relevant to their chosen service level and fee level.
You'll seek appropriate business opportunities, both from new and existing clients, working closely with Quilter Cheviot. For example, attending events, being active in local business and communities, following up leads, explaining the Wealth Management Division's services to potential new clients and following up on all opportunities to obtain new clients as well as developing relationships with professional connections.
Working closely with your Financial Planning Manager you will help to develop growth plans, contributing to the wider business plan and provide coaching/advice to members of the team, helping to develop our people as well as new business opportunities. You'll also have the opportunity to provide input into our proposition, service, and colleague development initiatives as an active member of the team.
You'll ensure all advice provided is within a strict ethical and compliance framework, ensuring that all operations affecting clients are carried out in accordance with FCA rules, whilst putting clients at the heart of our business.
About You
Applications from people with diverse backgrounds enables our inclusive organisation to thrive. If you feel you don't match our job description exactly, why not take a chance on yourself and apply? You could be exactly what this role needs.
You'll be a successful Financial Planner, focused on client relationships and service excellence. A self-starter with business development and origination skills, fresh thinking, and lots of ideas.
You'll be comfortable with change, able to navigate rapidly changing environments. You'll also need a strong level of technical and product knowledge with highly developed compliance and risk skills, as well as the ability to keep up and distil industry developments.
You'll need to be qualified in level 4 standard in Financial Planning as a minimum. Other qualifications, for example, Institute Investment Advice Certificate, the Advanced Financial Planning Certificate, the ATT from the Association of Taxation Technicians or the ATII from The Chartered Institute of Taxation would be an advantage.
Our purpose is to help the generations today and tomorrow to prosper. That means we must guide people through the complexity of planning for their future, with the right financial advice and investment solutions, so that they can have more secure financial futures.
In this ever-changing world, we see that our role in society has never been more meaningful, and we are committed to using our expertise and care to guide our customers through these challenging and unprecedented times.
Our impressive talents and capabilities set us apart, but our unwavering commitment to our customers is what defines us. We truly believe that we have all the ingredients to be the very best in our industry, and we want great people with the care and creativity that we need, to help us get there.
We are passionate about building an inclusive culture where everyone's contribution is valued, and our people can thrive. No matter what your role is or where you sit, your voice will matter. We hope you like what you hear and are interested in learning more about joining us.
