Our client is a leading aerospace and defence organisation and a major supplier of chemical propulsion to spacecraft manufacturers. Their rocket engines and thrusters serve commercial, scientific and defence sectors and the organisation has supported NASA and National and European Space Agencies on a range of projects.

This role is an opportunity to join the Engineering team leading structural and thermal analysis of their products and systems. This includes not only performing the analysis but coordinating and supporting the analysts in the engineering team

Key duties will include but not be limited to the following:

• Structural and thermal analysis. This includes
  • Generation and setup of the FE models
  • Running the required analysis cases
  • Reviewing the analysis results and comparison to required levels
  • Generation of analysis report
• Review and interpret higher level requirements (e.g. spacecraft level requirements) and identification of applicable requirements to analysis
• Provide inputs to Compliance Matrix/Design Verification Compliance Matrices
• Work with the engineering team, customers and suppliers to solve structural and thermal issues
• Support where necessary NCR/RFD/RFW Generation
• Customer interaction (regular meetings, PDRs, CDRs, MRRs, TRRs, TRBs, etc.)
• Work to generate a standardised approach to FE model setup, analysis results review and analysis reports generation
• Coordinate and support the analysis resources within the engineering team including allocation of analysis tasks, identification of further development for analysts and improving the management of FE model storage and filing.
