RW Joinery is one of the leading FIRE DOOR manufacturers and installers in the UK. Established over 50 years ago, the business has grown steadily from a Stockport based family joinery business to become a national supplier and partner to a host of clients, contractors and customers across multiple sectors including healthcare, education, construction, residential, leisure and industry.

RW Maintain is a new and rapidly growing division of the company dedicated to the inspection, replacement, maintenance, repair and monitoring of FIRE DOORs. The business focuses on developing long term and ongoing contracts with key clients and customers to ensure the integrity and performance of every FIRE DOOR within a customer site.

The company is now seeking a number of appropriately experienced and qualified FIRE DOOR INSPECTORs to meet a rapidly growing demand for our services. We seek both full and part time team members who are driven and enthusiastic individuals who are equally comfortable working autonomously under pressure and as part of a team. We require an in-depth knowledge of the regulations and requirements relating to FIRE DOOR installation and operation as well as a good understanding of third party accreditation requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To inspect and report on FIRE DOORs remedial work and installations using digital software and inline with the "Fire Door Inspection Scheme" Government Guidance and the manufacture technical installation or O&M Guidance.
  • To attend site prior to the maintenance team and survey the site for access, Health & Safety, material storage, specifications of work accuracy against third party information.
  • Working with our in-house project teams to quantify materials required to complete the works.
  • Handhold clients onsite to discuss site requirements, maintenance and repair cycles, legislative requirements and work schedules.
  • Correspond between the department managers, the workshop supervisors and department administration over job status and progress.
  • Maintain a safe working environment in accordance with our Health & Safety system.
  • Undertake Quality Assurance activity in line with approved guidance and evaluate completed repair works.

YOU WILL HAVE

  • Extensive knowledge of schemes such as BM Trada, IFC, FIRAS or equivalent.
  • Have, or be working towards a Fire Door Inspector qualification.
  • Expert understanding of manufacture and global assessment data.
  • Experience and qualification in fire stopping would be advantageous.
  • Detailed knowledge of the 2021 Fire Safety Act, Approved document B, BS476-22 and BS8214.
  • An understanding of fire strategy drawings, compartmentation within buildings and and fire risk assessments.
  • Demonstrate an understanding and commitment to customer care.
  • Experience or ability to use digital software.
  • A background in audit work, construction, joinery or fire related services.
