The role is a very busy position that will require someone organised, detail oriented with great communication skills. The role will keep you on your toes each and everyday, but also provide the right platform for personal development and growth.

The role:

Responsibility for the operational delivery of nationwide programme of Fire Door Surveying works delivered within a range of occupied buildings including social housing blocks, education establishments, offices, and district healthcare trusts.

Reporting to the Operations Director, the Fire Door Surveying Manager will:

• Lead and develop a team of up to seven site-based Fire Door Surveyors, Planners, and Support Staff
• Manage the co-ordination of multiple Fire Door survey projects from quotation stage, award planning, project mobilisation and completion including P&L responsibility
• Ensure outputs are maintained in line with commercial and client lead priority targets, ensuring robust planning and effective resource management techniques are maintained
• Assist in the preparation of instructions for the organisation and methods necessary to ensure compliance with Company Policies, effective site safety management and quality control
• Interpret survey results through a robust validation process, maintaining consistency in returns and high-quality results
• Assist colleagues to progress quotations for remedial works that if instructed will meet the exacting requirements of the FIRAS approved installers scheme
• Build and maintain positive, solution-based relationships with project stakeholders including senior client representatives, office and site based operational teams
• Report progress (Safety, Quality & Commercial) as part of a suite of key performance indicators internally and with client management teams

Your role provides flexibility for you to plan your working week where subject to any predetermined activities and any logistical constraints you will spend your time working efficiently between operational sites, the Company’s offices, and your home address.

All about you:

• A proven manager with experience of Fire Door Surveying and installation techniques, to a high standard on time and within budget
• Understanding and appreciative of requirements set out within third party accreditation schemes, ideally FIRAS and LPCB
• Understanding of Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order: 2005, and Approved Document B of the Building Regulations (England and Wales)
• A commercially aware team player with experience in multi-disciplined contract / operational management
• IT literate with past knowledge of surveying software, ideally including Bolster
• An effective communicator at all levels
• Confident and able to lead by example, willing to delegate whilst support the ongoing development of others
• Proven effective managing teams, recruiting staff and managing the mobilisation process linked to new Contract awards

What you get:

This is a grade 8b role with the following benefits:

• Salary Range £44,000 to £48,000 / annum (dependant on experience and qualifications)
• Company Car with fuel card or Car Allowance of £7,200 / annum
• Hours of work:
• 07:30 - 17:30 (Mon to Thurs)
• 07:30 - 16:30 (Fridays)
Holidays 29 days holiday per annum (including 8 statutory holiday days) rising by 1 day for each year of service up to a maximum 33 days / annum.
