Job Opportunity: Interim Fire Risk Assessor
We are seeking an experienced and passionate individual to join our team in the role of Interim Fire Risk Assessor. Reporting to the Compliance Manager, you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for Facilities Management across various building assets within our community.
Role Summary: As the Interim Fire Risk Assessor, your primary responsibilities will include revising/renewing and completing Fire Risk Assessments and Health and Safety Assessments through site surveys and desk analysis. In addition, you will conduct staff training on Fire Assurance and collaborate with various stakeholders for the development of method statements and provision of technical advice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical and professional advice on building-related operational use, specifically Fire Assurance.
- Lead/facilitate staff to ensure effective service delivery and project completion.
- Conduct research on local and national policy and best practices.
- Monitor service performance and quality standards in line with organizational objectives.
- Produce action plans, work programs, and assist in policy development.
- Organize and chair meetings, focus groups, and working groups.
- Ensure good financial management to meet budgetary targets.
- Promote positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Present formal and informal reports to management and Elected Members.
- Handle customer complaints to resolution within agreed timescales.
Shortlisting Criteria:
- NEBOSH General Certificate/Fire Safety & Risk Management Certificate.
- Proven experience in conducting Risk Assessments & Audits for Fire Safety and H&S.
- Ability to compose well-written reports using MS Word & Excel.
- Training qualification (Level 3 training award or equivalent).
- A genuine passion for Fire Assurance.
Desirable Criteria:
- Level 4 Diploma in Fire Risk Assessment.
- IFE Membership.
General Requirements:
- Able to work flexibly, including any service-specific hours.
- Able to travel throughout the Borough within a reasonable timescale.
- Good attendance record in current/previous employment.
