Your new role
As Fire Safety Officer/ Surveyor, you will be part of a team of specialist safety and compliance professionals reporting to Health and Safety Manager.
As the new Fire Safety Officer, you will be carrying out Fire Risk Assessments in accordance with PAS79 within various residential and non-residential premises, providing competent advice and guidance to staff, students and visitors and reporting on all matters relating to Fire Safety. You will be a strong and competent voice in the development and implementation of fire strategy, policy and associated procedures in accordance with The Fire Safety Act 2021 and The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. You will ensure that regular, documented inspections are carried out on all University dwellings and you will be responsible for monitoring and upkeep of any fire safety action trackers, working with internal departments to evidence continual improvement. You will be confident to liaise with external bodies such as the Fire Service, Local Authority and enforcing bodies. What you'll need to succeed
NEBOSH Fire and a cv demonstrating relevant experience of FRA's. You will have a full driving licence and access to own vehicle
What you'll get in return
Salary £37,000- £41,000
35 days holiday PLUS bank holidays
Hybrid working- work from home 2 days per week (you can be based at either the Lacaster or Carlisle office)
