A day in the life of our Fire Safety Manager
As our Fire Safety Manager, you’ll be responsible for the implementation of the organisational Fire Safety management system across our directorates. You’ll ensure that Fire Safety risk is effectively managed, provide expert advice and promote a safe and compliant culture.
We’re looking for someone with experience gained in a similar environment. Someone who can work closely with relevant Heads of Service to define and implement robust systems and processes.
You’ll work in close conjunction with the Standards Manager to develop and drive adoption of policies, procedures, systems, and tools. This will aid the management of Fire Safety risk in the organisation. You’ll lead Fire Safety management and performance across British Red Cross.
You’ll provide oversight to ensure H&S related incidents and near misses are effectively resolved (and learning is actioned).
To be successful as our Fire Safety Manager you should have...
- Extensive experience in Fire Safety standards in a complex and diverse organisation
- Experience in the management of asbestos with knowledge and understanding of associated legislation
- Proven ability to work to tight deadlines in a dynamic environment with competing deadlines
- Ability to deliver advice and training to non-technical end users, making sure they comprehend the information
- Experience of Microsoft Office suite (particularly Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
- Fire Investigations experience (cause, origin, handling evidence etc)
- Flexibility to regularly visit sites across the UK
- Strong stakeholder engagement experience. Ability to build professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders
