Fire Systems Design Engineer – Berkshire – Large Static Government Estate - £50,000 + £4,000 Site Allowances + 56 Days Annual Leave
RG Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Fire Systems Design Engineer to work for one of leading FM Service Provider clients. The role will entail you working at a large static government Estate to design, draw, price and provide proposals for Fire Detection and Alarm systems projects and small works. Due to the sensitivity of the contract all candidates must be eligible to pass DV Security Clearance. (Worked in the UK for the past 10 years, British Citizen and No criminal record).
Responsibilities/ Duties;
- Design of Fire Detection and Alarm systems
Estimating and providing proposals for client consideration - Altering baseline drawings of Fire Detection and Alarm systems both extensions and new systems
- Liaise with on-site commercial/technical/operational management in order to comply with company and client procedures.
- Knowledgeable and control in matters relating to Health & Safety, Environment, Technical and Statutory requirements including CDM regulations.
- Attendance at client contract meetings as and when required.
- Assist with the Preparation of project files (electronic versions) to include all BAFE/ LPCB/BRE
- BAFE SP203-1 /LPS1014 documentation from design certification through to client acceptance Maintain local technical library, including both product and legislative requirement for use in the compilation of designs.
- To carry out any other reasonable requests made by senior management.
Person Specification
- Extensive experience in designing and modification of Fire Detection and Alarm systems. ONC/OND in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- Estimation and Design of Fire Detection and Alarm systems, conventional and Analogue Addressable.
- Trained and experienced in the use of Auto Cad Competent in the use of Microsoft Office
- FIA Units 1 (Fire Detection Design), Unit 2 (Advanced Detection Design), Unit 3 (Advanced Alarm Design) or equivalent.
- Knowledge of key operational management disciplines, e.g. quality control, work planning methods
- Able to design Fire systems in line with BS5839 Pt1 and BAFE SP203-1, LPCB/BRE LPS1014 standards good sound knowledge and understanding of commercial and contractual requirements
- Smart, presentable appearance.
- Personable and approachable.
- A team player with the ability to work from their own initiative.
- Prepared to work additional hours if and when reasonably requested.
- Must be willing to undertake further training.
