A vacancy has arisen for an individual to join the Firearms Licensing Team on a full time basis. The role is a Firearms Administrator within the specialised realm of Firearms Licensing at Force Headquarters, Maidstone.

This is an opportunity for you to be part of a team managing the administrative side of firearms licensing.  You will process new and renewal applications for firearms certificates.  You will be required to complete the administrative tasks associated with the on-going review of firearms certificate holder’s suitability. • Organisational skills – Due to heavy workloads, individuals need to be able to manage their own workload and prioritise their workload effectively in order to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work as a team – The administrators work within three separate teams each with a team leader. However at times administrators will be required to help their colleagues from other teams.
  • Ability to deal with a changing environment – The world of firearms licensing is ever changing and the successful candidate must be able to deal effectively with changes in processes and procedures.
  • Data accuracy and attention to detail – Due to the high risk nature of firearms licensing attention to detail is vital.  Individuals must adhere to data protection at all times.
  • Interrogation of a number of police databases is necessary and you must be competent in the use of Microsoft Word.
  • The successful applicant will find this a varied, interesting position which provides an insight and experience into the world of firearms in general.
