Job description

Your new company
Hays is recruiting for a premier, specialist interior Fit Out company working across the Retail, Commercial and Hospitality sectors. Your new company will support your management career as you travel to cities throughout Great Britain and Ireland, including work in Northern Ireland.
Working alongside a team of professional tradespeople, you can expect to Fit Out some of the most recognisable fashion brands, hottest restaurants, and most modern office spaces in some of Britain and Ireland's biggest cities. Your new company is expecting to start new projects within Northern Ireland and are looking for a Site Manager who will be able to use their industry knowledge in Northern Ireland to assist in the opening of the kinds of modern restaurants, retail spaces and commercial spaces we have come to expect in Northern Ireland's cities.

Your new role
You will be working alongside a team of construction professionals to deliver turnkey Fit Out projects from inception to delivery in cities throughout the UK and Ireland. Working as part of a management team, you’ll be expected to oversee the progress of the project from inception to completion, while working with specialist members of your team to ensure the project will be completed on time, on budget and on specification.
As Site Manager, some of your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Overseeing the day-to-day direction of the entire project or a specific stage within it to ensure it meets expectations and deadlines throughout the UK and Ireland
  • Ensuring Health & Safety is always maintained, as well as adjusting timelines based on the project’s progress, and regularly communicating project goals to on-site employees.
  • Regularly reviewing project progress to assess how closely it’s proceeding to the projected timeline.
  • Managing onsite labour and specialist trades to ensure quality is achieved throughout the course of the build.
  • Liaising with all internal and external stakeholders including subcontractors and clients while ensuring the quality delivery of the project.

What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role, you will have previous experience overseeing construction projects in a Site Management capacity, specifically finishing projects to a high-quality standard.
You will have previous experience of carrying out works at a management level, as well as possessing relevant tickets (e.g. SMSTS / SSSTS / CSCS / NVQ). You will be a self-starter with excellent leadership skills and technical ability, possessing a keen eye for detail whilst upholding high standards throughout the programme of works. This client will be open to candidates coming from traditional trades backgrounds, with preference for those with Joinery experience. You will also need to be willing to travel throughout the UK & Ireland for short durations as the project dictates.
What you'll get in return On top of a competitive package, you can expect to work in varied environments throughout Great Britain and Ireland within a company with industry-leading clients and a modern workplace culture. In return for your hard work, you can expect a competitive salary, a company pension, holidays and your accommodation and flights paid for when asked to travel. This role will give you the opportunity to develop a lasting career within the business and internal promotion will be available alongside continued training and development opportunities.
