The Role

As the Fitness Instructor Apprentice, you will provide support to the Fitness Centre Manager to ensure the smooth running of the Gym facilities whilst being trained to become a level 2 Gym Instructor.

* Participate in a structured apprenticeship program to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for fitness instruction.

* Attend training sessions, workshops, and courses to learn about exercise techniques, program design, and safety protocols.

* Interact with customers in an effective way, addressing enquiries, providing information, conducting tours and promoting a positive and inclusive environment.

* Assist fitness assessments/consultations under the supervision of certified instructors

* Using Gym Assessments, instruct new members explaining and demonstrating how to use appropriate equipment.

* Following appropriate level of training, lead LSC gym, games and rebound therapy sessions, giving high quality fitness training, advice, programmes, and assessments.

* Assist in maintaining a clean and organised workout environment, including equipment setup and cleaning.

* Assist certified Fitness Instructors during classes, learning the dynamics of different fitness programs.

Skills & Qualifications

* 2 or more GCSEs at grades 9 to 3 (A* to D), or equivalent, for a level 2 course

* A genuine interest in the fitness industry, in particular supporting those with a physical disability and/or complex health needs

* Demonstrates good customer service skills

* Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to engage effectively with clients and colleagues.

* Experienced or has Knowledge of Microsoft packages

* Previous experience in a fitness or customer service environment is desirable.
