Fitness Instructor (Gym) Part Time (6-Month Fixed-Term)

We are looking for an experienced exercise professional to join our fitness team on a part-time basis for a six-month contract, starting in April 2024, based at our gym in the Geraint Thomas National Velodrome of Wales at Newport International Sports Village.

You will be a key fitness team member who engages with flare, energy, passion, and enthusiasm to drive driving forward the member journey from Welcome through to ongoing one-to-one and fitness programmes, in line with individual goals.

Key Skills, Experiences and Qualifications Required:

• Experience working in a fitness environment and the needs of clients
• REPS level 2 fitness instructing qualification (minimum)
• First Aid qualified (essential to the role but not to your application)
• Confident using IT systems / digital competency

Additional Skills, Experiences and Qualifications beneficial to your application:

• CIMSPA recognised level 3 PT qualification (or working towards)
• GP referral or other level 4 professional qualification
• Strength and conditioning coach
• Continued professional development qualifications such as circuit training, kettlebells, group cycling, viper, yoga, Pilates, boxercise and exercise to music (or working towards)
• Ability to communicate in Welsh

Experience delivering group exercise fitness classes is also advantageous to your application. We have an extensive class timetable, so experience of delivery relating to our current classes, or potential to introduce new classes, is always welcome.

**The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974) and is subject to a successful Disclosing and Barring Service (DBS) check**

Contract - Part Time, 26.50 hours per week for a six-month period, starting in April 2024. There will be opportunities to pick up additional hours / shifts as and when available as cover for other team members

Pay - £21,029 per annum (pro rata)
