The opportunity


We’re looking for a Fleet Contract Manager to join our hybrid Gloucester Business Park based team, with regular travel around the Fleet expected.


You will provide effective, co-ordinated and customer focused service solutions that enhance operational safety and quality performance and deliver value for money across the existing nuclear business within an allocated market sector(s). You will continuously review contract performance to drive improvements that provide value with safe and sustainable solutions, that ensure consistent deployment of a standardised approach aligned with the company ambitions through benchmarking, best practice sharing, and peer group interactions.

What you’ll be doing


As our next Fleet Contract Manager you’ll carry out the following duties:


  • Establish and maintain effective relationship management activity with key Senior stakeholders (including Executive Steering Group sponsors, Station Management Teams, Contract Managers, Market Specialists and key staff within the contractor organisations that ensures client standards, expectations and requirements are clearly understood, managed and delivered accordingly
  • Act as the operational focal point for both internal and external organisations for safety, quality and environmental matters
  • Establish and deploy service level agreements for a consistent approach applied across all locations
  • Establish a service performance measurement process, including regular internal and external cost and service benchmarking activity to regularly monitor and review performance to ensure service is maintained and improved
  • Take oversight and support Supplier Development activity to generate and drive continuous improvement through the development and deployment of supplier improvement plans
  • Provide leadership, direction and communication to ensure awareness and understanding of objectives, improvements and performance is upheld
  • Apply human performance tools to enhance operational safety and performance
  • Where applicable, undertake procurement activity in accordance with the Company’s Acquire Goods and Services Process and the Company’s Supply Chain and Market Strategies
  • Where applicable, administering of upstream and downstream commercial aspects of a contract to the delegated level of authority. This includes supplier appraisal, tender preparation, tender assessment, negotiation, contract placement, variation and claim management and performance monitoring.


Who you are


You’ll have proven senior stakeholder management interface and relationship building experience in a multi-site environment including people management, a heightened level of IT skills with extensive knowledge and experience of implementing strategic direction including supporting tender processes, contract management internal & external interaction and project management.


You will have proven large budget management experience including prioritising spends in a dynamic environment, risk management, whole life costing and continuously improving Business efficiency, proven track record in managing contracts, contractor relationships and supplier performance improvement and knowledge of technology linked to the specific market area.


Ideally, you will have a degree level education and MCIPS is desirable.
