Flexi / Bendi Driver / Picking And Packing

We’re seeking an experienced warehouse operative to join our Halifax warehouse team.

The inside scoop:

At our Halifax site we are looking to recruit an experienced warehouse operative. You will work within a close-knit team in a fast-paced environment reporting to the warehouse supervisor. You will be responsible for a variety of tasks from unloading and loading curtain sided trailer’s and handballing loose items in and out of containers through to picking and Packing goods for delivery and loading complex, consolidated groupage loads all whilst maintaining health and safety standards.

The role will include, but is not limited to the below tasks –

• Daily and weekly pre-use checks including minor maintenance of all equipment.
• Operating a counterbalance FLT's, Flexi / Bendi FLT's and LLOP's.
• Cleaning as you go to help maintain safety and cleanliness.
• Handballing loose items of various weights and sizes in and out of transport units within a pre-determined timeframe.
• Loading and unloading all types of vehicle in all types of weather in a fast paced transport yard.
• Conducting picking/packing and receipt/despatch operations in line with our warehouse management system.
• Palletising, labelling and wrapping pallets ready for despatch.
• Re-work activities such as building cartons/display stands and re-packaging/labelling items.
• Maintain accurate records and work within the organisations processes on all goods in/out and receipt/despatch transactions through paperwork and handheld scanners.
• Always work within the companies health and safety guidelines
• Working as part of a team to ensure all jobs are completed on time.

The ideal candidate should have:

• Forklift truck experience
• Flexi/Bendi experience
• Experience in loading groupage containers/trailers – desirable but not a necessity.
• A keen eye for detail.
• Experience of using handheld scanners/WMS system desirable.
• Ability to take instruction and communicate with the warehouse team.
• A team player – from time-to-time you may be required to help cover over roles to cover for holidays or illness
• Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and meet tight deadlines
• Committed, motivated, energetic, proactive and fun with a positive can-do attitude
• Flexible with a willingness to get involved in all aspects of the day-to-day business
• Ability to work well whilst under time constraints with a ‘right first-time’ approach
