Job description

The University of Manchester is Britain's largest single-site university, and has made a significant strategic investment in eLearning over the last six years. The Faculty of Science & Engineering is one of the largest of its kind in the UK with over 13,000 students and over 500 members of academic staff across 8 academic Departments (Chemical Engineering & Analytical Science, Chemistry, Computer Science, Earth & Environmental Sciences, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Mechanical, Aerospace & Civil Engineering, Mathematics, Materials and Physics & Astronomy).

The Flexible Learning Programme is a major strategic change programme supporting staff and students to innovate teaching and learning across the University. It’s delivering the Flexible Learning strategy for the University, putting in place the right frameworks, processes and infrastructure to give staff and students the best possible experience. The programme is exploring how we can give students greater flexibility over the pace, place and mode of learning, but also how our institution can widen access to higher education via flexible pathways and new ways of delivering learning. The Flexible Learning Programme will be delivering wide ranging changes to support staff and students, including changes to technology, processes, training, and ways of working.

The successful applicant will be assigned to Faculty of Science & Engineering Teaching, Learning and Student Experience (TLSE) team. The post holder will support the Flexible Learning team, key stakeholders across the assignment area and will be coordinating change activities across the Flexible Learning workstreams (including but not limited to changes like implementing new technology, new policies, processes and ways of working). It would suit a candidate looking to gain experience in a varied role delivering a major business change programme.

What you will get in return:

  • Fantastic market leading Pension scheme
  • Excellent employee health and wellbeing services including an Employee Assistance Programme
  • Exceptional starting annual leave entitlement, plus bank holidays
  • Additional paid closure over the Christmas period
  • Local and national discounts at a range of major retailers
