What you will be doing...
Flight Planning and ATC Coordinator,based at Low Fare Finder House at Leeds Bradford Airport. This is arostered role,working 4 days on 4 days off (2 days / 2 nights).
Jet2.com and Jet2Holidays are delighted to offer the opportunity to work at the heart of our busy Airline Flying Operation as a Flight Planning and ATC Co-ordinator. This unique opportunity, Working as One Team in a fast paced and dynamic environment plays a vital role in helping to ensure the day to day flying operation runs smoothly and is well-supported. Our Flight Planning and ATC Coordinator is responsible for monitoring and reducing delays allocated to all Jet2.com flights in relation to Air Traffic Control regulations. Previous experience in an airline operations or Flight Planning setting is desirable, however full training and career development will be provided.
What will you do in the role?
As a Flight Planning and ATC Coordinator you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and on-time delivery of operational flight plans for the entire Jet2.com flying network. This will include operational checks of Weather, NOTAMs and any other operationally critical information. In addition to this you will be responsible for monitoring the flying programme and tactically managing our flights to reduce the impact of ATC related slot delays. You will also:
- Undertake regular weather checks for all Jet2.com bases and destinations and monitor geographical areas for any matters which may disrupt the flying programme.
- Use our Flight Planning software to ensure our flights are operating on the most efficient routings whilst considering any operational requirements such as ATC Industrial Action, weather, and aircraft capability.
- You will be the first point of contact for our operating crews for any routing or Flight Planning queries.
- Work closely with Operations and Maintrol to ensure that any disruption to the flying programme is minimised where possible, for example dealing with aircraft technical issues, tail swaps and aircraft changes.
- Support your line manager and the wider Operations Team with reporting, analysis and administration as required.
What are the key skills / experience you’ll already have?
Our Flight Planning and ATC Coordinator will be highly organised, have an analytical mind and an understanding of Flight Planning and airline operations. Previous experience of working in an aviation environment would be advantageous. You will also:
- Be able to read and assimilate technical data quickly and accurately.
- Be adaptable to changing situations.
- Be willing to work in a rostered position, with a 4 on, 4 off shift-pattern to meet the demands of the flying programme.
- Have an eye for detail and the ability to prioritise workload under pressure.
- Be a team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Be passionate about providing an excellent service with safety at the centre of every decision
