Job description

Our client is looking for a Civil Engineer to work in their expanding Flood, Maritime and Coastal team in their Bradford-on-avon Office. This is an exciting and unique opportunity to join an established and growing team with opportunities to work on a wide range of flood defence and river restoration projects in the South West and further afield. Our client is looking for a new team member who recently Chartered with CIWEM or the ICE or is able to demonstrate significant progress towards their Chartership application.

You will get the opportunity to develop your career, working on interesting and varied flood, coastal and maritime projects for clients including the Environment Agency, Natural Resources Wales and local authorities.

Our client undertakes feasibility studies to select optimum solutions; prepare business cases to unlock funding; design cost-efficient schemes using the latest digital technologies; provide construction supervision and administrative support; and advise on how to best manage and extend the life of their clients' assets.

They will provide all relevant training, development and support so that you may further your engineering career. They are a diverse and energetic team and you will play a key role in contributing to their continued success.

About the Role

  • Deliver packages of work within budget and work schedule to meet the project requirements
  • Understand project scope and identify contractual change
  • Understand the customer's basic and performance requirements
  • Undertake feasibility assessments, optioneering, outline and detailed design
  • Balance the workload of multiple projects
  • Prepare clear and concise deliverables appropriate for the intended audience

Essential Requirements

  • Civil Engineer with necessary qualifications to achieve IEng MICE or CEng MICE or equivalent other institutions.
  • Desire to work proactively towards Incorporated or Chartered membership of the ICE, CIWEM or other equivalent institutions
  • Motivated to work on flood and coastal risk management projects, experience is preferable

  • Experience of working on flood defence and river restoration projects at appraisal, outline design, detailed design and/or constructions stages
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.

  • Be driven to develop and improve your technical skills and advance your career.
