Job description

As an Advanced Practitioner you will take the clinical responsibility for your own clinical work and professional development. You will provide professional leadership and training, support service development and undertake reflective, evaluation of practice, support clinical governance and work as a part of a team with other disciplines towards shared objectives. The post holder is responsible for planning and managing their own caseload, depending on their area of expertise, prioritising to meet the needs of the patient and the service. To lead the development and implementation of department protocols and standards of service. The post holder will perform all the professional and technical requirements of the post, as a qualified State Registered Radiographer with the Health and Care Professions Council, whilst working as an autonomous, expert practitioner. To have an active role in managing, leading and motivating staff through organisational change. The post holder will work within the framework, which has been authorised by the Trust, and use their specialised, expert clinical skills and knowledge to provide the appropriate information to assist diagnosis. The individual will use highly specialised skills to consistently produce highly technical images on all types of patients. This expertise will be used to encourage and teach junior staff and students to improve the quality of images. To use specialist knowledge, skills and experience to decide when to adapt, alter or, change complex examinations as per your own clinical judgement and expertise and according to the patient need. This may include the provision of a written authorised final report to the referring clinician, communicating results directly to patients, or recommending referral for further investigations
