One of the UK's most successful Facilities Management (FM) providers are now looking to recruit a Technical Manager dedicated to a Key Account for a client within Defence & Aerospace. The FM Provider offer hard and soft services across their UK estate which consists of manufacturing, R&D/Testing to Office facilities.
The Engineering Service is critical, covering M&E, Fabric and small Projects, working in critical and non critical environments, delivered largely by site based teams, and some mobile support.
The Technical Manager will be responsible for this service on a day to day basis, reporting into the Head of Technical, and be responsible for the Account's southern portfolio only
This is a fantastic role for a well qualified, resilient and experienced Engineering Manager, looking to develop their experiences further, either within leadership or to specialise as an Authorising Engineer.
Actions will include:
- Maintain a PPM schedule that meets contractual and legal obligations based on SFG20 Guidelines and Manufacturers recommendations
- Support and advice Facilities Manager in the control of PPM activities.
- Support and advice Facilities Manager in the management of remedial works
- Validate Quotes
- Review Method Statements
- Provide support to FM through the duration of works
- Manage and implement the Safe System of Works
- Authorising Person for Electrical Works
- Training and assessment of Competent Persons and Site Responsible Persons
- Maintain AssessNet Risk assessment and Method Statement Data Bases for Account to Support FMs in management of SSoW and RAMS.
- Lead and motivate the engineering team to improve performance on customer service, communication, networking, common engineering standards, quality, safety and environmental issues to ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory / corporate requirements and that documented procedures exist and are understood by all employees.
- Lead the engineering team to deliver a safe, compliant, cost effective and responsive service
- Working with the engineering team to provide an efficient / cost effective management of all Suppliers which includes; lifts, building management controls and fire systems
- Contribute to plans and strategies for the future development of facilities
- Maximise the utilisation of the Technical Services team through training and coaching in order to minimise plant downtime and reliance on sub contractors
- Establish and maintain excellent working relationships based on open and honest communication with suppliers to ensure confidence in our business and to present a credible and professional image
We need from you:
- A strong level of qualification, Mechanical and/or Electrical
- Clear leadership experience
