We are seeking a dedicated and customer-oriented Food Service team member to operate our new takeaway "Snack Shack" at the garden centre.
In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the "Snack Shack" serving hot and cold drinks, sweet and savoury snacks, ice creams and waffles. You will have the ability to oversee the full operation from ordering stock to serving our guests.
You will have a passion for service and driving sales, be characterful and energetic, have a real attention to detail for housekeeping and food standards.
The role may vary according to demand and could present an opportunity to work in the restaurant or garden centre.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality and possess strong communication and organisational skills.
Duties
- Prepare and serve food and beverages to a very high standard
- Take customer orders and process payments accurately
- Provide exceptional guest services, including answering questions, addressing concerns, and resolving any issues promptly
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the dining area and food preparation stations
- Follow proper food safety and sanitation procedures to ensure the health and safety of our guests
- Upsell menu items and promote special offers to increase sales
- Collaborate with the kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation and delivery of orders
- Assist with inventory management, including restocking supplies as needed
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a food service or hospitality role is preferred but not required
- Self motivated, dynamic and driven to make a success of this fantastic new facility
- Cash handling and order processing experience preferred
- Strong time management skills to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with guests and team members
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
- Basic knowledge of food safety regulations and procedures
- Flexibility to work weekdays or weekends, and holidays as required

Job Type: Part-time
Salary: Up to £12.00 per hour
