Food Service Assistant

Reed Secure are working with public sector organisation who are looking to recruit Food Service Assistant to assist in the preparation of food, servicing of meals with agreed methods and portion control, assist in stock taking including checking delivery and storage of stock and general catering duties.

Take an active role in promoting the catering facilities including undertaking promotional events.          

• Duration: 3 months with potential extension
• Rate: £12p/h
• Hours: 32 hours per week - Mon to Thurs 11.45 to 19:00 and Fri 11:45 5:45
• Location: Hutton - PR4 

Key Responsibilities

• To undertake basic food preparation duties, including breakfast production, preparing vegetables, fruit, salad and cold buffets
• To ensure that all food served is of a high quality and standard, mindful of portion control, meal content and correct temperatures
• To serve and present meals and beverages in a friendly and courteous manner at all times, promoting a warm friendly atmosphere, referring any complaints immediately to a senior member of the catering team
• To undertake temperature monitoring, completing relevant documentation as and when required
• To wash and dry kitchen pots / utensils / kitchen equipment, storing appropriately
• To maintain the highest levels of cleanliness and hygiene within the kitchen area, and ensure the cleaning schedule and daily checks are completed as and when required
• General cleaning duties to the kitchen area (floors, cookers, storage facilities) and deep cleans as and when required
• To keep clean the dining area tables during service times and immediately after service

In addition to be considered, you will need to successfully complete CTC clearance before commencing the role, which may take around 1 months from the application submission date.
VETTING REQUIREMENTS
All security clearances require you to provide evidence of your UK footprint where you have been physically present in the UK.
The requirement for CTC clearance is to have been present in the UK for at least 3 of the last 5 years.
Failure to meet the residency requirements will result in your security clearance application being rejected.
Checks will be made against:

• UK criminal records covering both spent and unspent criminal records.
• Your credit and financial history with a credit reference agency
• Security Services records
