Working for a well-established Specialist Contract Catering Company our client is actively seeking to recruit a Food Service Assistant to join their full complement of Kitchen Staff who are based in an independent school in Caterham, Surrey.
As a Food Service Assistant you will be working in a friendly, busy and physically demanding position. Your principle duties will be to, assist with Food Service during meal times, subsequently conduct clear down and cleaning duties in a timely manner. Ideally you will have some experience of working in a professional Kitchen environment. In addition, you will be expected to: -
Duties
- Works as part of the catering team to prepare food for service.
- Prepares service and dining areas as instructed by line manager
- Prepares light refreshments and beverages as instructed by line manager
- Ensures minimum food wastage
- Creative with food presentation and preparation
- Ensure area(s) under control are cleaned as per cleaning schedule
- Operate catering equipment
- Prepare and participate in special functions (which may be outside normal working hours) and 'theme days' (and dishes) as required
- Attends training sessions as required
- Complies with all statutory and company health and safety practices and procedures, including manual handling
As a Kitchen Porter you will be working in a friendly, busy and physically demanding position. Ideally you will have some experience of working in a professional Kitchen environment. In addition, you will be expected to: -
Duties
- Co-operate with all team members and undertake duties in the kitchen / service areas as requested to ensure an effective service is delivered at all times
- Clean and wash up all kitchen and service items in an efficient manner.
- Keep the kitchen and restaurant areas in a clean and tidy state at all times.
- Operate Kitchen equipment according to the Clients and Manufacturers Hygiene, Health & Safety polices
- Possess a willingness to work under pressure and in timely manner
- Provide a friendly, efficient service to all work Colleagues and Customers.
- Show commitment to Company values in all aspects of the role
