Base rates from ?13.53 per hour to ?15.15 per hour

Shifts / Hours: 06:00-14:00 / 14:00-22:00 rotating weekly (planned to move to a 3 shift rotating weekly 22:00-06:00)

Job Description:

Quest Employment is recruiting for Counterbalance Fork Lift Driver roles on a temporary basis based in Bretton, Peterborough. To be considered for the Counterbalance Fork Lift Driver role all candidates must be flexible within reason, reliable, and available for an immediate start where required. Candidates must have a basic to good level of English speaking, reading, and writing. As a Forklift Operative, you will be flexible in assignments as positions may vary from time to time which may include packing, sorting, picking, dispatch, labelling, boxing, and palletising.

Our client is a leading manufacturer of sweet and cereal-based products with a broad range of technological capabilities, primarily serving the end markets of bakery, cereal, confectionery, dairy and ice cream.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join our client who is a growing company with many opportunities in a purpose-built site based in Bretton, Peterborough. Shifts available 06:00-14:00 / 14:00-22:00 rotating weekly with a plan to extend to include the 22:00-06:00 shift forming a 3 shift pattern rotating weekly. The site operates 24/7 so work may include occasional weekend work.

Salary Breakdown:

• Base rate £13.53 per hour
• Shift allowance for 2 shift rotating £1.08 = £14.61 per hour
• Shift allowance for 3 shift rotating £1.62 = £15.15 per hour
• Tx½ over 40 hours £20.30 per hour
• Shift allowance only paid on base hours only

Day to day of the role:

• Driver of Forklift
• Loading, unloading Lorries and containers
• Packing, checking & labelling cereal product
• General Upkeep of warehouse and yard area
• Be actively aware and understand the Health and Safety
• Working towards daily productivity targets
• Use internal software SAP
• Be actively aware and understand the Health and Safety
• Be actively aware and understand food safety relevant to the role
• Meeting all KPI’s in place
• Material checks following company SOP’s

Expected working environment:

• Will be hot during the summer months
• Expect machine noise & vibrations (PPE provided)
• Potentially dusty environment
• Safety boots are required to be worn
• All other PPE required will be provided as required

Required skills:

• In date Counterbalance license (RTITB or ITSSAR)
• Lifting, bending, reaching above the head, crouching and/or stretching
• Pushing and pulling up to 15kg in weight / Lifting and moving products up to 15kg
• Manual dexterity in both hands and wrists
• Experience working in a warehouse/production environment is preferred but not essential
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Computer literacy - able to work scanners and complete simple tasks on a PC
• Time management
• Ability to work as part of a team and individually where required
• Accuracy and attention to detail to include numeracy
