P+S Personnel are pleased to be working on behalf of our clients, who are currently seeking a Forklift Operator to join their team based in Norwich on a full-time, permanent basis.
Role Summary:
- As Labourer you will be expected to carry out several duties around the site with a keen emphasis on flexibility.
- You will be able to work on your own or as part of a wider team and be counterbalance Fork-Lift Trained.
- You will provide internal logistic support of all items, some considered irregular size, weight and dimension and be responsible for these items until they reach the manufacturing facility, these items will be moved by way of either FLT or by Tug (Full training will be provided for Tug duties).
- You will operate safely and consider Health and Safety, whilst working quicky and efficiently and you will be prepared and willing to support logistical and operational requirement across the site where needed.
Main Responsibilities:
- To become point of contact for internal logistics for operations and to offer support to the manufacturing facility.
- To support and facilitate the movement of stock items internally between manufacturing facility or warehouse and support the JIT nature of the business using FLT, Crane, and Tug.
- To support in the timely acquisition of stock from Goods-In and to store items receipted into the business until required by manufacturing.
- To support the stores department with picking, stock counting, general stock control duties and order expedition.
- To ensure that all work areas are kept clean tidy, are free from rubbish, empty pallets, or boxes.
- To support any other operational/logistical requirement as necessary.
Person Specification:
- Be able to work on own initiative and/or as part of a bigger team.
- Be punctual, flexible, and intuitive.
- Have experience in warehousing and possess a Counterbalance FLT licence.
- Have some experience in using a deck mounted crane and rigging/slinging loads.
- Have knowledge of stock control, and some understanding of supply-chain techniques.
- Have some understanding of inventory and supply chain processes.
- Be able to communicate effectively on all levels.
- Be adaptable, flexible, and able to meet the needs of the manufacturing facility – Sometimes supporting at a weekend.
Working Hours:
- Monday – Thursday 08:15 – 17:00
- Friday – 08:15 – 12:45
- Sometimes supporting at a weekend on busy periods.
