Former Tenant Arrears Officer
Salary – Grade E - £26,421 - £28,770 per annum
37 hours per week
Hybrid working – home and office based

About the role:
Working in the rents and leaseholder team as a Former Tenant Arrears Officer, we will look to you to provide an effective and customer focused Former Tenant debt collection service which includes the maximisation of financial income to Nottingham City Council Housing Services. You will act as a point of reference and provide advice, support and expertise to colleagues relating to former debt and arrears matters for the Company.
As a Former Tenant Arrears Officer you will be responsible for:

You will ensure the effective recovery of outstanding Former Tenant & leaseholder arrears and debts


Contacting and meeting with Former Tenants to discuss arrears and advise, help and support them to pay off their debts
Using an innovative approach you will work to improve debt recovery, while maintaining essential procedures and adhering to guidelines


Monitoring the former debt performance management, including the writing of management information reports and providing detailed statistical analysis


You will display the ability to develop and present written or verbal information in a clear and concise manner.
Responsible for developing and maintaining effective working relationships and liaison with partner debt collection agencies.
Utilise your knowledge and understanding of legislation and best practise in relation to debt recovery to achieve company targets

You will possess good interpersonal skills and a proven ability to communicate effectively at all levels and with a diverse customer base. With a highly customer focussed approach, sensitivity when required and demonstrate sound problem-solving skills. You will have an organised approach to working under pressure.
Proficient in the use of all Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and be able to prepare comprehensive written reports, spreadsheets and presentations as and when required.
