Formula 1 NDT Technician

If so, you could be travelling to race events around the world and work in the factory, completing routine and complex NDT tasks using a variety of methods.

My client's core competencies are the design and development of racing cars to compete in the Formula One World Championship. They have a long and successful pedigree. They are now moving into an exciting era under new ownership, which has brought substantial investment.

NDT Inspection requirements will be defined by the Engineering drawings, whilst you will use your expertise to perform the tasks accurately and efficiently. You will gain an in-depth knowledge of components, manufactured in a variety of materials, such as carbon-fibre composites, metals and plastics. Accurate data collation will be essential in determining a confident and meaningful conclusion to part quality and conformance.

Requirements:

NDT certification to LEVEL 2 AEROSPACE Standard in the following methods:

• Ultrasonic Inspection – required.
• Dye Penetrant Inspection – required.
• Magnetic Particle Inspection – required.
• Eddy Current Inspection – desirable.
• CT Radiography – nice to have.
• Should be familiar with UT of composites (CFRP) and, ideally, Phased Array UT (PAUT).
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in each method.
• Must be flexible regarding working hours and be prepared to train up in other methods.
• You should ideally also be apprentice trained with ONC/HNC qualification and a good knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures.
