Role & Responsibilities:
As an FPGA Firmware Developer you will:
Develop VHDL firmware for high-speed applications, including sensor signal acquisition and signal processing using ADCs, DACs, and serial and parallel memory interfaces.
Deliver verified and tested VHDL firmware code that meets specified functionality and performance requirements.
Identify and address hardware and firmware issues in electronic systems, providing comprehensive reports on root causes, issue resolution, and procedural changes to mitigate future problems.
Create high-quality documentation for VHDL firmware code and FPGA designs, including specifications, verification & validation reports, and production test documentation.
Support the production team by troubleshooting issues and ensuring electronic systems meet performance requirements during production.
Utilize standard laboratory instrumentation such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers to debug and verify live hardware.
Showcase expertise in version control, change control, and bug tracking tools/systems.
Skills & Experience Required:
To be successful in this role, you should have:
A degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years' experience in FPGA development.
Proven experience with FPGA technologies from various vendors, including Xilinx and Lattice, and proficiency with their related toolchains.
Experience with typical serial interfaces such as SPI, I2C, UART, RS232/485, CAN, etc.
Familiarity with high-speed serial interfaces and protocols, including USB, Ethernet, TCP/IP, UDP, sFPDP, and Aurora.
Language skills:
Ability to effectively communicate in the English language, both verbally and in writing
