Job Title - FPSO Facility Engineer
Position Overview:
The FPSO (Floating Production, Storage, and Offloading) Facilities Engineer is responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe design, installation, operation, and maintenance of FPSO facilities. This role involves working closely with multidisciplinary teams, including operations, maintenance, project management, and safety teams, to ensure that FPSO facilities are optimized for production, storage, and offloading of hydrocarbons. The FPSO Facilities Engineer will play a critical role in supporting offshore production operations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations, and implementing best practices to maximize asset integrity and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and Engineering:
Develop and review engineering designs for FPSO facilities, ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and project specifications.
Provide technical input and support during the design and modification of FPSO topside and hull systems.
Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and engineering analyses to support design decisions.
Project Management:
Manage and oversee FPSO facility projects from concept to completion, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, and coordination of resources.
Interface with contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met within scope, time, and budget.
Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions as needed.
Operations Support:
Provide technical support to offshore operations teams to ensure safe and efficient marine standard are upheld.
Troubleshoot and resolve project issues related to FPSO facilities, including process upsets, equipment failures, and maintenance challenges.
Maintenance and Reliability:
Develop and oversee maintenance plans and schedules for FPSO facilities, ensuring timely and effective execution.
Conduct reliability analyses and implement improvements to enhance the reliability and availability of FPSO equipment and systems.
Support the implementation of predictive maintenance technologies and methodologies.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including process engineers, safety engineers, project managers, and offshore personnel.
Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful project execution.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, marine Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, with a focus on FPSO facilities engineering.
Strong knowledge of FPSO design, operation, and maintenance practices.
Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., API, ISO, ABS, DNV).
Proven project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Willingness to travel to offshore locations and work in challenging environments as required.
Preferred Skills:
Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification.
Experience with advanced engineering software and tools (e.g., CAD, FEA, CFD).
Knowledge of digital technologies and their application in FPSO operations (e.g., IoT, data analytics).
Prior experience working on international projects and in multicultural teams.
Working Conditions:
Office-based with regular visits to offshore FPSO facilities.
May require extended hours and flexibility to meet project deadlines and operational demands.
Adherence to strict safety protocols and procedures while on offshore facilities.
Reporting Line: The FPSO Facilities Engineer will report to the FPSO Operations Manager or the Engineering Manager, depending on the organizational structure.
