Job Introduction

Main Responsibilities
  • Implementation of health, safety and environmental requirements
  • Minimise wastage and drive project sustainability requirements
  • Liaising with Delivery Team to determine priorities for production
  • Tracking and reporting of production outputs to ensure deadlines are met
  • Understanding and implementation of Factory Production Control manual and quality management systems
  • Liasing with suppliers to maintain compliance with Factory Production Control manual
  • Attending weekly meetings and audits as and when required
  • Procurement of materials and consumables
  • Adhering to maintenance regime of equipment and arranging maintenance
  • Communicating with workforce on daily, weekly, monthly priorities in order to manage production
  • Identifying and reporting of non-conformances. Reviewing of non-conformances with different disciplines and ensuring measures are in place to prevent re-occurrence
  • Identifying opportunities to streamline processes and making recommendations where necessary to drive continuous improvement
  • Overall responsibility for managing the production process
  • Identify training requirements and arrange formal and informal training when appropriate
  • Ad-Hoc duties as and when required
The Ideal Candidate
  • Proficient in Health, Safety and Environment
  • Strong organisational Skills
  • Managing teams
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritise tasks effectively
  • Competent in the use of IT and digital software
  • Previous experience of working with reinforcement in a factory enviroment
  • Knowledge and understanding of production processes
  • Proven experience of working within the manufacturing industry within construction
  • Relevant CSCS card
  • Formal training in Health & Safety and Environmental management (SMSTS)
  • Understanding of quality management systems
  • Knowledge of CARES SRC-Appendix 02 and SRC-Appendix 08
  • Knowledge of BS 8666 and BS 4449
  • Knowledge of Technical Approval report TA1-A 5050

About The Company

The role will work on the HS2 project. HS2 is the UK’s new high speed rail network. It will be a catalyst for economic growth across Britain, freeing up space on the existing railways and connecting 8 out of the UK’s 10 biggest cities with fast, reliable and frequent high speed services

The Skanska | Costain | STRABAG (SCS JV) is delivering the HS2 London Tunnels Contract. Scope of works includes twin-bored tunnels (TBM), SCL tunnels, shaft sinking, bridge demolition and reconstruction, services diversions, earthworks and the construction of site compounds.

Develop a culture of safety on the project through the absolute commitment to the Zero Accidents target and ethos, and develops a wider awareness of quality, environmental issues and demonstrates commitment to achieve continual improvement and Zero tolerance.
