Freelance Site Manager

My client is looking for an experienced and committed Site Manager to join the active team and work on a fit out project in Exeter. 

This would be on a 9 week contract 24th June – 30th August

Monday to Friday

7:30am – 4:30pm

Requirements as follows:

• SMSTS required.
• First Aid required.
• Ideally from a trade background, although not essential. A good understanding of light refurbishment works and a hand on, problem solving approach.
• Enhanced DBS certificate required.
• Previous experience in a similar role.
• Preferably good use of basic IT skills,
• Extremely reliable.
• Great communication.

Responsibilities

• Opening and closing site daily.
• Ensuring security of the site and that all visitors sign in/out of site.
• All staff and sub-contractors receive a health and safety induction and have appropriate training (including working at height, asbestos awareness, and electrical safety) for their role.
• Maintain safe and healthy working conditions/Manage health and safety risks.
• Provide clear instructions and information, and adequate training to ensure employees are competent to do their work.
• Monitoring, taking and checking of deliveries at site.
• Reviewing programme and ensuring works remain on schedule.
• Carrying out daily site diary or who is on site/works carried out.
• Provide and maintain safe plant and equipment.
• Ensure safe handling and use of substances.
• Report regularly to your superiors that the site is compliant with requirements, and reporting any concerns that would impact budget or timescales.
• Implement emergency procedures, including evacuation in case of fire or another significant incident or emergency.
• Ensure Method Statements and Risk Assessments are in place and have been brought to the attention of relevant personnel.
