Progress Teachers are working closely with a Leicester School to appoint an experienced and passionate teacher of MFL (French) to drive standards and instil a love of learning across KS3 and KS4 classes.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality French lessons that engage pupils and help them develop their listening, reading, writing and speaking skills in the target language.
- Support the MFL department in developing schemes of learning and resources that are in line with the School's vision.
- Conduct regular assessment of all four key skills, maintaining accurate records of outcomes for reporting and analysis.
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively through the consistent use of the School's behaviour policy.
- Stay abreast of developments in MFL education, continuously enhancing your own knowledge and skills to deliver up-to-date and relevant content.
- Engage and actively participate in wider professional responsibilities such as lunchtime duty, parents evenings, and transition open evenings as required by the School.
Qualification Requirements:
- Teaching Qualifications: A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent) with a focus on MFL is highly advantageous, however, experienced non-qualified teachers will also be considered for the role.
- Subject Knowledge: A degree in French / Francophone Studies or a related field, with a strong understanding of key concepts and a passion for the subject.
- Teaching Experience: Proven experience as a Secondary MFL teacher with a successful track record of student achievement is also advantageous, however, ECTs will also be considered for the role.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with students, colleagues, and parents.
- Commitment to Inclusion: A commitment to fostering an inclusive and diverse learning environment that caters to the needs of all students.
- A DBS on the Update Service or Willingness to obtain.
