The butchers and delicatessen are what we are famous for. Sourcing much of our meat and cheese locally, we are a traditional butchers with a modern twist. We make all our own sausages, burgers and pies, cure our own bacon and produce a range of easy meals.

We are looking for a friendly, reliable and enthusiastic Fresh Food Retail Sales Assistant to join our busy Butchery and Deli team. This is a permanent part time role with sociable hours. Great attitude is the main skill we look for.

Training/up skilling will be given and we offer the opportunity to grow and gain a formal qualification or apprenticeship.

Working within our Butchers and Deli team you will:

• Have a passion for providing top notch customer service at our counter.
• Ensure our counter is always well stocked and immaculately presented and promote our product range with enthusiasm.
• Prepare, make and pack products according to recipes and portion control for retail sale.
• Ensure the work area is kept exceptionally clean and tidy and complies with company hygiene policy.
• PLEASE NOTE: with our skilled butchers on site, knowledge of butchery is not essential.

Our ideal candidate for Fresh Food Retail Sales Assistant:

• At least 1 years’ experience of working with FRESH FOOD in a retail, hospitality or butchery environment.
• An excellent communicator, strong team player, eager to learn, honest and hardworking and be able to work on your own initiative.
• An enthusiastic and flexible approach with a ‘can-do’ attitude and good work ethic, you will be organised and take pride in your work.
• You will not mind handling raw meat.
• YOUR OWN TRANSPORT IS VITAL DUE TO OUR RURAL LOCATION.

Hours for the role:

• 3-4 days per week including every other Saturday (and occasional Sunday) by rota, sociable hours between 8am-4/5pm. Our day is 8-9 hours long, we open Tuesday to Sunday.
• Extra hours will be required at busy times, Christmas and holiday cover.

The role has become available as our current Fresh Food Retail Sales Assistant is now training with us to become a fulltime butcher.
