Our technically advanced client is a leader in quantum computing. Through best-in-class software, they are scaling the sector, driving growth and advancing the laws of quantum physics. They now have an excellent opportunity for a Front-End Engineer to join their world-class organisation.
Front-End Engineer responsibilities:
- Design and develop resilient front-ends for web applications supporting quantum experiments
- Collaborate with designers to implement UI designs into high-performance code
- Lead technical discussions and make key decisions to meet product requirements
- Mentor and guide junior developers in best practices and technical skills
- Ensure web applications are optimized for performance and reliability
- Perform unit and end-to-end testing using tools like Jest or Cypress
- Implement and adhere to web accessibility standards (a11y, WAI-ARIA)
- Partner with researchers to support and advance scientific development
- Bachelor's degree (2:1 or higher) in Mathematics, Computer Science, Science, or Engineering
- 5+ years of web application development experience
- Strong skills in CSS, HTML, JavaScript, TypeScript, and Python
- Experience with React or similar frameworks (preferably Next.js)
- Proficient in web performance optimization and testing (Jest, Cypress)
- Knowledge of web accessibility standards (a11y, WAI-ARIA)
- Interest in Quantum Computing
- Experience with data visualization for scientific data
- Familiarity with FastAPI and Rust programming
- A base salary circa 60-85k
